LISE CHARMEL: A HISTORY

The story of Lise Charmel began more than half a century ago in Lyon. Renowned worldwide for producing the finest silk, the town survived on its reputation for working with this finest of materials for several hundred years. When King Louis XI began pumping money into the city in 1466, he turned what was a small circle of silk weavers into a great silk manufacturing base that established a reputation lasting centuries.

In a town known for its expertise with this fine and luxurious material, one couturier was on the hunt for the ultimate in beautiful design and complete comfort. 

Custom-fit for their discerning French customers, the Lise Charmel brand garnered unique expertise on how best to fit the female form, balancing not only aesthetics but comfort to provide the ultimate underwear that every woman can feel confident in.

Lise Charmel shot to fame with its Guipure design (where motifs are connected using bars, or plaits, rather than being sewn onto net or mesh) in 1994, stepping ahead as a fashion-forward voice in the lingerie industry.
