Juste Moi to stock iconic Royal swimwear

When we think of British figures of the 90s, it’s almost impossible not to think of Lady Diana, Princess of Wales.

She was a much-loved and much-lauded figure, Diana is sorely missed by the British public. As well as being a huge source of inspiration for her humanitarian work, the much-loved Royal was also renowned for her timeless style and grace, remaining a fashion touchstone to this day, over a quarter of a century after her untimely death.

Her sensationalised, highly scrutinised life has been a focal point for this season of Netflix’s hit show, The Crown. The uber-popular series, which has told many stories from the last century of the UK monarchy through its past five seasons, stars Elizabeth Debicki as Lady Di, alongside Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Gottex swimsuit re-released for The Crown

Photographs this week reveal Debicki as Princess Diana shooting scenes on a luxury boat, in a certain Gottex swimsuit!

The Crown’s producers have chosen to create a scene around a famous paparazzi shot of Lady Di and Dodi Fayed, where Diana is wearing an iconic Gottex animal print swimsuit.

Gottex were asked to reproduce this heritage swimming costume for the show, and have produced a very small quantity for sale.

Gottex: Favoured by Royalty

The Princess of Wales favoured high-end Israeli swimsuit brand Gottex, which were stocked in stores such as Harrod’s - where Lady Di was a regular customer. Dodi of course was the son of Harrods owner at the time, Mohammed Al-Fayed. She was regularly spotted in stylish Gottex swimsuits and pareos in her South of France holidays.

She wasn’t the brand’s only famous fan, either - Royals such as Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Caroline of Monaco, as well as celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and Brooke Shields have also been proud to sport the brand’s stylish swimsuits and pareos over the years.
